Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

1. Opening Statement

Eden Row Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chain. We uphold the highest ethical standards and comply with the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) Act 2008 and the Criminal Law (Human Trafficking) (Amendment) Act 2013, as well as all other relevant employment and human rights legislation in Ireland.

2. Our Business and Supply Chain

As an Irish recruitment and consultancy firm, we serve both public and private sectors. We recognise the recruitment industry plays a critical role in protecting workers. Our supply chain includes:

  • Professional services.
  • Office facilities and equipment.
  • Third-party payroll providers (where applicable).

3. Our Policies & Compliance

We operate the following policies to identify and prevent exploitation:

  • Right to Work Checks: We conduct rigorous verification of identity and "Right to Work" documentation for all candidates in accordance with Irish immigration and employment law.
  • Direct Payment Policy: To prevent financial coercion, we ensure all workers are paid directly into a bank account held in their own name.
  • Protected Disclosures (Whistleblowing): In line with the Protected Disclosures Act 2014, we provide a safe channel for employees and candidates to report concerns of wrongdoing or exploitation without fear of reprisal.

4. Due Diligence

To mitigate risk, Eden Row performs the following:

  • Supplier Vetting: We assess our suppliers for their own commitment to ethical labour practices.
  • Worker Interviews: Our consultants are trained to look for signs of coercion or "debt bondage" during the registration and interview process.
  • Transparent Terms: We ensure all candidates receive a written contract of employment or terms of engagement in a language they understand.

5. Training

We provide awareness training to our recruitment consultants to ensure they can identify the "red flags" of human trafficking and labour exploitation as identified by An Garda Síochána and the Workplace Relations Commission (WRC).

6. Reporting Suspicions

Any suspicions of human trafficking or modern slavery will be reported to the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) or via the Garda Confidential Line.

7. Approval

This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Eden Row and will be reviewed annually.
